Aluminum Diamond Plate

Aluminum Diamond Plate is an aluminum plate with a diamond or teardrop-shaped pattern on its surface. Also known as aluminum anti-skid plate or aluminum embossed plate, it is commonly used for flooring or vehicle interiors. Wanzhi Steel offers a wide selection of aluminum grades and dozens of steel roller equipment. Our embossed aluminum plates offer excellent ductility and corrosion resistance, and we accept custom thickness, width, and length. If you would like to learn more, please contact us.

Common Aluminum Grades

1) 1060, 1100: Contains over 99% aluminum, offers excellent ductility, is easy to bend and cut, and has good corrosion resistance.

2) 3003, 3A21: The addition of manganese increases strength by approximately 20% compared to the 1xxx series. While maintaining good corrosion resistance and formability, it can be welded and stamped, offering high cost-effectiveness.

3) 5052, 5754: Contains magnesium as the primary alloying element, offering excellent resistance to seawater corrosion, stable low-temperature performance, and resistance to brittle cracking in cold environments.

4) 6061, 6063: Contains magnesium and silicon, and heat treatment further enhances strength, making them the highest structural strength grades. While retaining some corrosion resistance and workability, they are relatively expensive.

Features

Slip Resistance

The raised pattern on the surface increases friction, preventing slips and falls in industrial environments, workshops, and trains.

Lightweight and Corrosion-Resistant

Its density is lower than steel, and after alloying, it has a high strength-to-weight ratio. The oxide film formed in air protects it from rust.

Visual Aesthetics

The shiny silver surface and regular geometric pattern give the sheet a modern and industrial feel, making it suitable for architectural decoration.

Easy to Process and Durable

It can be cut, bent, drilled, and welded like ordinary aluminum sheet. Its surface is hard and wear-resistant.

Application

1. Architectural Decoration

Used for background wall and column decoration in spaces such as bars, restaurants, and offices. Also used for elevator car siding and control panel areas, ceiling gussets, and building facade decoration.

2. Flooring, Decks, and Carriages

Used for truck and trailer cargo floor panels and step boards, for boat and boat decks and stairs, and for factory walkways, platforms, and work steps.

3. Home Furnishings and Nameplates

Used for easy-to-clean countertops on dining tables, coffee tables, and bar counters. Also used for kitchen splashbacks, company logos, house numbers, equipment identification plates, tool box covers, and display boards.

Recommended Uses For Different Aluminum Grades

1) 1060, 1100: Suitable for applications with low strength requirements.

2) 3003, 3A21: Suitable for the widest range of applications, with various hardness and strength requirements.

3) 5052, 5754: Suitable for outdoor or highly corrosive environments.

4) 6061, 6063: Suitable for heavy-load applications or structural support, where high strength and hardness are required.

Application of Aluminum Diamond Plate

What Are The Commonly Used Hardness?

1) O: Annealed, the softest state, offering the best formability and machinability. It has the lowest strength and is easily bent and deep drawn.

2) H32: Strain-hardened + partially annealed, suitable for non-heat-treatable 5052-grade alloys, 1/4 hard. It strikes a balance between strength, hardness, and formability.

3) H34: Strain-hardened + partially annealed, also a common state for alloys like 5052, offers higher hardness and strength than H32. It is 1/2 hard and offers good corrosion resistance.

4) T6: Solution heat-treated + artificially aged, the most common and highest-strength state for heat-treatable alloys like 6061, but has poor formability and is prone to cracking when bent.

Manufacturing Process

Aluminum sheet blank or aluminum sheet coil → cleaning → embossing with roller press → leveling with leveling machine → surface treatment (anodizing, spraying, laminating)

Brief Description

A pair of patterned steel rollers is used. By adjusting the center distance of the steel rollers and rotating them, a flat aluminum plate is allowed to pass through the middle, so that the patterns on the steel rollers are pressed onto the surface of the aluminum plate, forming an aluminum patterned plate with a diamond or other pattern.

Cold Embossing VS. Hot Embossing

Comparison Dimensions Cold rolling embossing process Hot rolling embossing process
Raw Materials Using cold-rolled aluminum plate with a relatively thin thickness Using hot-rolled aluminum plate blank with a relatively thick thickness
Process Characteristics After embossing, the board has high precision, good surface smoothness, and clear and delicate patterns High production efficiency, capable of manufacturing thick plates, but slightly inferior in surface accuracy and pattern refinement
Performance Good toughness, not easy to break, suitable for bending and stamping Higher strength, stronger bearing capacity, relatively poorer ductility
Applicable Scenarios Fields with high appearance requirements, such as interior decoration, vehicle pedals, furniture panels, etc Outdoor platforms, ship decks, heavy-duty truck compartments, and other fields that require high strength and thickness

Difference from Steel Diamond Plate

Feature Aluminum diamond plate Steel diamond plate (usually low carbon steel)
Weight Very light Relatively heavier
Corrosion Resistance Very good Easy to rust, requiring galvanizing or painting to prevent rust
Intensity Good Extremely high, more wear-resistant, and impact-resistant
Cost Higher Lower
Magnetism Non-magnetic Has magnetism
Appearance Bright silver, good retention The original color is gray, and after galvanizing, it appears bright silver
